Job description:

Our mission is to contribute to reduce the global greenhouse gases by providing solutions for the production of green hydrogen. We are stepping into the electrolysis market now and grow a new business segment for ANDRITZ over the next years! In our technology roadmap we go to the market with alkaline (AEL) and proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis process. For anion exchange membrane (AEM) and solid oxide electrolysis (SOEL) we follow the market and technology development.

ANDRITZ has experience in turnkey and EPC projects globally, a high competence in best-cost manufacturing, active cooperation with HyCentA Technical University Graz and Fraunhofer ISE, close connection to potential Green Hydrogen customers in the existing customer base in the energy sector through ANDRITZ Hydro, in the pulp&paper and steel industry.

We are looking for a Green Hydrogen Global Director of Project Management (m/f/d) at our headquarter in Vienna.


What you can expect

  • You are member of the executive team of the Green Hydrogen division with active participation of its development
  • Responsible for the gross margin development of all the green hydrogen customer projects on global basis
  • Develop and manage global EPC project execution capabilities with a strong focus on Europe and Northern and Latin America, including the following functions
    • Project management, scheduling and management of chances and risks
    • Contract, claim and sub-contractor management
    • Supply chain management (Inspection & Expediting, Procurement & Logistics) in collaboration with ANDRITZ group
    • Site operations (civil, installation) management in collaboration with ANDRITZ group
    • Electrolyzer stack delivery and quality management
  • Co-create a global EPC project execution collaboration platform, processes, tools and standards enabling a successful execution of shared projects with the business areas HYDRO, METALS and PULP&PAPER
  • Major negotiations with customers, main suppliers and critical sub-contractors in project delivery and warranty phase
  • Creation and approval of project execution concepts and staffing in green hydrogen proposals
  • Organize periodic global project reviews, forecasting, non-conformance reporting, and pro-active risk mitigation and timely corrective actions
  • Recruit, develop, mentor and coach of people
  • Prepare capacity management while monitoring workload, identifying resource and quality limitations with proposed corrective actions
  • Organize lessons learnt as part of our continuous improvement process

What you bring to the table

  • At least 10+ years of experience in international and multinational EPC project management senior roles preferably in chemical plant engineering business
  • Proven track-record of successful project closure of 3-digit-million-EUR projects
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with customer and sub-supplier management
  • Proactive hands-on-mentality and readiness to grow the execution capabilities from the scratch
  • Solution-, team- and customer-oriented personality with strong leadership and communication skills with multinational teams
  • Excellent knowledge of project manament tools and processes
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel a lot internationally
  • Degree level qualification, preferably in an engineering discipline

In Austria we are legally obliged to announce at least a gross monthly salary of € 4.452,34/month for this position.
Depending on qualifications and professional experience we offer you a market-based salary.
